FAQS

Why do you call it Body-Mind education and not Mind-Body?

Body-Mind puts the body in the forefront in trying to promote whole health and wellness. Modern research shows that to help the mind, the body has to be incorporated to make our body systems function optimally for health, growth, and restoration.

Isn't a Physical Therapist trained to focus only on the body? How would you know about the mind?

Physical Therapists (PTs) are very well-educated in the NeuroMusculoSkeletal System. But we realize that the root of many people's chronic issues comes from behaviors, thought patterns, beliefs, and possibly traumas. That is why many PTs like myself are upskilling to incorporate psychological-informed care into their practice. A hallmark of Physical Therapy practice is that we get to spend time with clients. This fosters a therapeutic relationship that allows for a connection with the client to dig deeper for insights into what may be driving one's chronic complaints.
